The world’s resources are coming to an end being more limited every day around the world. Think of petroleum for example the gas prices are sky high compared to what they used to be that’s because people are not sustainable and globally engaged. What does it mean to be globally engaged? The answer is quite simple actually. To be globally engaged is to watch out for the world. Not just your state or your country but the whole world, to have a concern for what is going on around the world and to try and help. When we hear about the wars and tragedies going on in the world we don’t think they affect us but they do because they are the world which we live in. According to Bud Rock “being globally engaged is not an option; it is a reality”. I agree with his comment because what happens out in the world affects us no matter what we do. Take gas for example the US is fighting a war with another country (Iraq) and that is only causing gas prices to go up. Moreover prices on every thing are going up. That is not the end of it; because of the war the economy of the US is going down hill and is carrying the world economy with them because the US is one of the elite powers in the world. That one war just affected the whole world. Did you know that every 15 seconds a child dies around the world due to the water they drink? That’s right a child dies either from diseases or from thirst because of the contaminated water they drink or because of lack of water. There are places in Africa where they don’t have clean water or even have water at all, but here in the US we waste the most water in the whole world when a child could be drinking that. Next time you waste water think to your self a child just died wishing he or she could have tasted that water. Global engagement needs to be done; we must act to help ourselves, and the world.

I agree with you that being globally engaged is simple, just to look out for the world and know whats going on. Its not hard and everyone can do it.
